Here let me give you an example:
Lets say that you hypothetically had the ability to live for ever and study a specific organsim.
the specific organism you are using will be birds.
Now lets place the birds in an environment thats being slowly deprived of a certain food, and replaced by something harder.
As time passes, the birds will eventually have offsprings and those offsprings will have a slightly stronger beak or the beak will change shape to adapt to the new food supply.
it takes thousands of years, and it just doesnt happen in a flash.
1 generation of bird reproduces, the next generation will be slightly diff, then so and so on till you have something different.
same with humans.
we used to walk on 4 legs, then we learned to stand, as the years passed, every human born gained some form of trait that allowed us to walk up-right.
evolution is not like pokemon where you evolve in 1 second into something diff >.>

All science is is best guess. We are incapable of proving there is a/re god/s or that we evolved over time. You can argue this all you want there is no conclusive proof.

But, seriously, I'm totally atheistic, so I believe in evolution. The concept of a god was created by ancient people as an excuse for ignorance: they don't need to know, something else knows for them.

I don't think we evolved from monkeys exactly, maybe we started as the same thing but monkeys evolved one way and we evolved a different way, basically we both evolved in separate ways from the original creature if that made sense. While we're similar to monkeys, I think we're too dissimilar to have evolved from them, but who knows.
Either way, monkeys have evolved since then for sure, so we couldn't have evolved from what we know today as monkeys, making the theory of evolving from monkeys impractical.
