I'm wondering if there's any possible way to do a free update of my graphics card? Or do I just have to pay fer' one or something? Cause the one I have right now isn't the greatest, and i'd like it updated so i'm able to play "better" games....

You'll have to buy one.
You can't just get a free upgrade whenever you like.
Some companies do allow you to buy a card and use it for a while, then offer the chance to upgrade if you want a better one. But even this isn't 'free' and its for new cards only.

Exactly! Also, the type of card you wish to get depends on what you are going to use it for. If it's for serious gaming such as Call of Duty 4 or Crysis, then you would need a very good card such as an nVidia 8 Series (also needs a high powered PSU).

Well if you got a low-end 8 series, like an 8400,8500 etc then its not gonna be gaming standard. They are the lowest of the low, DX10 capable cards..
You'd want at least maybe an 8600GT, 9600GT, 8600GTS... depends what you want to pay, but they are well priced I think for you

If you are just lookin to play Call of Duty 4, a 'budget of the budget cards' the 8400GS will do fine, I had 1 when i built my PC (low on cash had to wait a week till my PC fund was renewed.
Any who, you can get them for £20 or for not that much more really, you could get an 8600GT for £50, you wont really need more than that unless your a die hard lookin to play crysis on a decent(higher)quality setting

Free upgrade? Possible (drivers can bring 1-5% performance increase).
Integrated Intel GPUs, those are no good for gaming. What are your needs?

8400GS, is low end...about what? sub-£40 ($80) now?
It'll be low settings, no post-process or AA/AS and a lower resolution for it, no more than 1024x768 or equivalent. Frame rate is maybe just playable at that... 25fps avg
