I'm building a gaming desktop, here are the specs I have chosen, from NewEgg.

Q6600 @ 2.4 Ghz
Antec 900 Case
[2] 2 GB x 2 Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500 GB Hard Drive
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Mobo
Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F 120mm Case Fan
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler

Budget is 900$.

I already have a graphics card, and a power supply.

Suggestions, or modifications?

Q6600 @ 2.4 Ghz - Great idea, this is a nice processor

Antec 900 Case - beautiful case!

[2] 2 GB x 2 Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2 - Not 100 percent sure about this... I hope its good

Western Digital Caviar SE16 500 GB Hard Drive - WD = win

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - You dont need more than the one Intel supplies you, but w/e

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Mobo - nice mobo

Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F 120mm Case Fan - I dont know why you want another one, but i guess you could put it on the side vent area.

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler - good idea

Great idea Smile

If you are an intense gamer, i think you should look into the 680i, 780i or even 790i motherboard...

I have a 512 MB HD 2600 Radeon card, and a 500 W power supply.
I think that should be suitable, and I don't want to buy another graphics card.

Alright, thanks Smile

I'm intending to overclock to 3.0 or 3.2, that's why I bought the extra fan.

[2] 2 GB x 2 Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2 || Why not get only 2x 1GB? Team Extreem and Crucial Ballistix should do the trick
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound || Get Tuniq TX-2 instead
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Mobo || Why not get Gigabyte P35-DS3 Rev2.1 instead of this L-version? The P35-DS3 Rev2.1 has pre-pumped MCH and ICH voltages, it also offers High Quality CPU Power design with Ferrite core chokes, Low RDS (on) MOSFET and Solid Capacitors.
Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F 120mm Case Fan || Great choice, Scythe fan certainly rock
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler || Why not get a Xigmatek S1283 or Cooler Master Hyper 212? No clearance problem with Gigabyte P35-DS3 boards.

Don't spam.

As I've said,

Anyone [SaviorFamily, Madman, Cheetah?] have any suggestions?

The graphics card you have will be the largest pain in modern games (such as Crysis and the less intensive Call of Duty 4). It would be better in games if you got a slightly weaker CPU and upgraded the GPU to an 8800GT/GS, or a 9600GT. 500W PSU will be enough.

Not many applications (including a 32-bit OS) will use that 8GB of RAM. Just 2GB will be fine. Arctic Silver 5 is good, but the stock thermal compound should be okay, just get the upgraded CPU cooler. P35-DS3L is good enough.

I'd say make adjustments to your RAM situation... 8GB is overkill right now, and probably for a while it will be.

Didn't check your motherboards RAM freq. but maybe make an upgrade to 1066 if it doesn't already support that, and get that type of RAM, too.

Edit: just looked it up, it supports up to 1333, so I'd suggest changing your RAM to 2GB x 2 (total of 4gb) 1333 RAM.

Edit 2: I just looked up newegg's supply of 1333 RAM, they seem to be sold out of the 2GB x 2 packages... I'm sure the RAM you chose will work fine.

Edit 3: if you intend on doing some pretty dramatic overclocking, I would definitely go with Arctic Silver-5 compound, for 6 bucks, it goes a long way compared to stock compound.

I'm going to be running 64-bit, so no issue there.
Any other issues?
If not, I think I'm good.

ATI is already, but 2600 is quite poor compared to 2900 or any 3800 cards.

P35-DS3L supports DDR2 667/800/1066, not 1333, 1333's the FSB. What RAM you use shouldn't be a factor here since you're overclocking, BTW, 4 sticks RAM will stress your RAM controller when you overclock.
