Would you get a HDD smaller than 7200RPM that would even be SATA-Compliant in a desktop machine :p

WD-Raptor is your serious. Add that into a RAID-0 config with another drive and you have as good a drive setup as you'd need for gaming, and the read speed will be phenomenal.

But its like everything...how fast do you wanna go? Is there any point if you're not going to take advantage of it, or see the benefits? Most likely not.

Well, guys how about you go off of Zarrs post, and just edit it with options for me to choose from? Or make it better. Something to help a guy like me out, instead of making it confusing for me. I mean I even had to look up what HDD was. Now, I laugh at how stupid I was for not knowing though, but just a little more explantion on this techie stuff wouldn't hurt right?. Also, what about cooling?

So, I'm assuming the build is done? Just need to start purchasing, getting a cheaper or bit more exspensive monitor thats better, and then start building? Or does anyone else want to contribute?.

I'll give it a week or two..

haha... attachment

Anyway, if he is making you pay, you should do it yourself... It takes about 1 - 6 hours depending on how much you suck at putting a computer together! and how well you can read papers, match colors, match shapes ect...

Well, some of us can't tell a HDD from a CPU, so it might take them a while. But, really, I couldn't imagine it taking more than 2-3 hours.

Its not a problem, I can fully appreciate it if its a first-time build etc.

If I couldn't build a PC, and I wanted someone to do it for me, I guess I'd prefer them to take 6 hours than 1-2 hours Wink

Why? Id perfer them to take 1-2 hours... Why take longer? Unless you are refering to slower wins the race...

Assuming I knew nothing about computers etc.... It would be logical to assume that them taking longer on it would maybe equate to them doing a more careful and complete job.
More "peace of mind" if it was average joe.

But if you went anywhere that do build custom PC's, you wouldn't have it done in a few hours anyway... :p Businesses can't do it.

Only took me 1 hour for me to build my first computer, and that was including accidently putting the motherboard in the case before attaching the Heatsink/Fan. I had to take out the motherboard again and put it back in. =/

Sometimes its better to attach the CPU, its heatsink & memory all when its mounted in the case, depending on the underside support the board has.
Sometimes its harder to attach it off the board especially with the intel-type push-on HSF assemblies. Its sometimes better to have an even support with space underneath.
If it was me, unless it was absolutely necessary, I wouldn't have bothered taking it all out again Wink
