I bought this 1.8Mhz celeron laptop, it's got 512Mb ddr266 and a 30Gb hard drive, CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo, it's all in great shape except the hinges are busted (that hold the screen up) other than that it's pretty nice. It's got the Nvidia Geforce4 Go 420 in it. It's a Toshiba Satellite 1415...

Anyways, I bought it for $40 from some guy, and I've become somewhat attached to it but wanted to sell it initially for $100+ on ebay. What do you all think? It's my only laptop aside from a 500Mhz cheapo IBM Thinkpad with a shorting out monitor.

Also, if I keep it... there's this site that says I may be able to overclock it since it's a mobile by sticking a copper wire in the CPU slot bridging pin 15 -16 pushing the CPU to around 2Ghz, anyone know anything about this? Thnx

Overclocking a laptop is a terrible idea. The cooling on most laptops can barely handle the heat output stock, it will drain your battery life, and to top it off I can almost guarantee you have no AGP/PCI locks on there so you'll make it unstable and slowly kill your hardware.

All this for a performance increase you likely won't even notice.
