I don't have a problem with marijuana, but I usually have a problem with the user. While it may have little physical effect on you, that's not really the issue, because it affects you mentally. I've lost so many friends to it, they start doing it and it makes them feel good, then they stop caring about the things they used to like and eventually it gets to the point where they blow all their money on it so they can't afford to even do anything else, if they even had the motivation to. Something doesn't need to be physically addictive for someone to be hooked on it. Food is safe and beneficial when used properly, now look at how many fatass people there are. Once people find something they like, they're usually too stupid to moderate it.
The fact you say it's not linked to cancer because it doesn't have to be smoked, means nothing because it's almost always smoked. A vaporizer is difficult to find, and you certainly can't use one when you're on a cruise or wherever. Yes it may not be as harmful as cigarettes, but so what? Go take a nap in the middle of the nearest 2 lane highway, it's safer than sleeping in a 4 lane highway.
It's also unsafe for people with emotional/mental disorders. It can set off people with schizophrenia that may not have even knew they had it. It causes panic attacks in people with anxiety, which causes a lot of unnecessary stress on the body.
You say it's not a "gateway drug", I beg to differ. People are told how unsafe marijuana is, then once they try it and think it's just fine, now they think all those other drugs are the same way. In my city marijuana use exploded a few years back, now suddenly everyone is doing coke. Coincidence? Probably not.
Cost, don't even get me started on that. You're blowing money on artifical happiness, that you could have spent actually doing something fun.
Not a hallucinogen? It affects everyone differently. Neither weed nor alcohol are hallucinogens, but when I have both I hallucinate like crazy.
Yes I know most of the people who say bad things about it have no idea what they're talking about, yes I know it can be beneficial when used properly, but it almost never is. |

I love how you talk about "wasting money" that could've been done doing something fun. How bout the whole experience with smoking weed being fun. I have fun with my friends when I smoke weed. You started to make an argument about people being told how unsafe marijuana is and when they try it they think that all drugs are ok. Thats why people hate the bullshit "facts" -lies used to deceive the public- that surround weed. IF they only told you the TRUE facts about how marijuana isn't so bad as people perceived then we wouldn't be stuck with this "IF Weed isn't so bad than lets try LSD or coke or etc". It'd be like "Man.. what do you want to do tonight? Drink,smoke weed or buy a pack of cigarettes". I'd rather those three choices then the first.
Plus None of you are going to "win" the argument. Its extremely hard to win one against someone who has a strong liking -maybe even a sort of "addiction"- to something. It may be fun for you, it probably isn't for the people around you. If sitting around smoking a plant is your idea of a good time, I feel kind of sorry for you. Every marijuana smoker I know has become increasingly boring over the years to the point where they never want to do anything but sit around . It's one thing to do it maybe once a week or on the weekends when you're already getting messed up, but everyone I've seen always gets addicted to it and next thing you know they do it constantly and become the stereotypical stoner. |

The people who do coke, are emotionally unstable in the first place, and like you said EVERYONE in your community started doing it, peer pressure has always been a issue hasn't it? Weed isn't a gateway drug you can't say that much, maybe if you watch a movie like "spun" when high, it glamourizes methamphetamine. That's why you just don't go around those kind of people.
Vaporizers are EASY to make, and you can make brownies ect, also you can make pills out of it. You can make a vaporizer out of a lightbulb, but you saying that lightbulbs containing mercury ect would be another story. ( It's healthy to smoke from a lightbulb ). Burning papers makes a cancerous smoke, same with smoking from tinfoil bowls, and most kinds of metal, but just because you get Alzheimers doesn't mean it's the tinfoil burning, the chance of you getting Alzheimers is the same if you smoke from tinfoil, or don't even smoke at all. (but aluminum oxide in the brain does make alzheimers)
If they were to legalize marijuana( Personally, I don't want it to happen. )
