my problem is that whenever i try to insert a blanc cd to write like lets say.. a file, my CD rom doesnt detect it Shocked

can anyone help?

Hmm, fault CD drive i guess. I suggest removing your CD drive and replace it with a brand new one. You can get a kickass one at http://www.newegg.com/ for around 25USD.

lets see if these helps: i inserted my civilization 4 cd and it worked perfectly, i take the game cd out and put a blanc one just to put a wow pserver guide and the file to make it but it never detected the blanc cd.

(its not an example, its true.) Crying or Very sad

i had a similar problem with DVDs; my computer did not read the DVDs, but when i attempted to burn anything to them i had no trouble. I also experimented with different DVD brands and found out my computer read very old DVDs no problem.

try burning something to the CD and see if it works. if not, you may want to consider a new CD drive.
