In some countrys it's illegal to use a phone in your hands while driving.
So bluetooth makes it you don't have to hold the phone.

If I were you guys, I'd suggest staying AWAY from blue tooth. Personally, I love it when people use blue tooth, but its not a very smart move for the person using it.
Blue tooth is like, a phreaker's best friend. People can connect to your phone from their own and create total chaos on your phone. Delete everything, steal your photos/songs/almost anything, and make your phone act just plain strange.
I, along with some of my friends love to search for people with blue tooth connections and then just making their phone start ringing and making weird noises 
Bottom line, blue tooth is, as of now, the easiest way for strangers to get into your phone without direct access to it.
