Well, tried to burn a CD today, and WMP gave me an error. (Yes, I use WMP, it has never failed me in the past, and I don't often burn CDs.)
Error:

Okay, so. I tried 2 brand new Sony CD-Rs. Both gave that error. Tried some cheap CD-R, same error. Then, I went to 'My Computer.' I have ONE drive, but, it shows me as having 3 DVD drives. One of them is from Daemon tools, but...yeah..doesn't even show my CD drive. Pic:

After that, I disabled the virtual DVD drive via Daemon..and it still left me with 2 DVD drives.. Pic:

Anyway, my question, why does it show my drives like this? A reboot didn't fix it, more wondering why my drives are showed as 2 DVD drives, than the CD error.

Edit: Just stuck in an old CD that I had burned, PC said it was blank..

I have no idea what I'm saying, so here goes...

Check if they are regestered in the BIOS.

Hmmm... try a system restore.

I really have no idea what's going on. You think its a damaged CD drive? Did you scratch it somehow?

I tried some stuff.

Click on web help in the error and download whatever you need to. It worked for me after =]

I'll try the above, thanks.

Anyway, system restore is out of the question, I have no clue when it fucked up my drives.

No problem.

I recently rebuilt my PC and I had to deal with a whole bunch of drivers. I tried playing music and it wouldn't work, so yeah I just tried stuff.

If that doesn't work I have no idea.
