| my brother formatted his computer and i'm not sure what driver he needs for internet to work. we share the same router; its a netgear wg121 and i installed that netgear wg121 driver, but there was no luck. i'm not sure how to fix this, what can i do?

You need to install the driver for his wireless adapter.
Probably in a PCI slot, if not built in the motherboard.
Maybe a USB 2.0 one.

yeah, i'm almost positive its a PCI slot. how can i find out which driver i need?

Check for documentation on it, open the case and look for a model number, run programs like Everest Home Edition and let it scan your hardware.

In device manager, I have a tab called 'Network adapters'
It shows what PCI wireless adapter I'm using.

yeah, i did the same thing and it said unknown. =/

i'll try out Everest right now, thank you.
update: used everest and found out the pci driver needed. installing it to my brothers computer right now.
i just installed it and still no luck. i downloaded the driver ( realtek rtl8139 family pci fast ethernet nic ) and installed it, but its still not working. =/
