It's weird that it only happened to my computer but not my laptop...when ever you reformat, it only fast for a while...like a month or so, then it slow down.

I think that you got too many programs, applications...or viruses.

My laptop was also bought like around 1.5 years, it has 1 GB RAM though.

Lab-tops tend to always be slower then a Computer thats hooked up to everything, i think this is because they are acsessable, and that might tend to make them slower then normal COMPS. Wink

Windows xp needs atleast 60mb of ram to start (if you change some services). however because you're a novic user I wn't explain how but google can tell you.

Ok,i'm willing to help you make you're computer faster, go to start, run and type in msconfig and take pictures of everything under the tab that says startup and once you have all of thatpost it on here, also take pictures of everything under you're services tab.

and last but not least take pictures of everything in you're Device Manger to get their simply click start, right click my computer click Hardware, and that's it. once you have uploaded all those pictures PM me and I will see if I can help you speed you're computer up.

Change HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters to 2 (only prefetches boot files).

Go to C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch and delete everything.

The next boot will be slower than normal, but every other one will be faster.
