| Single core, only 1GB RAM, integrated graphics...I'd suggest sticking with XP on that machine unless you have a specific need for Vista.

Gaming will be better on XP with that machine. Since your card isn't DX10 capable, it will only be slower if anything due to the higher resource usage of Vista.

1.5gb of ram should be enough for vista, worked for me when i upgraded. but if you want to install vista on your computer, i'd suggest getting an extra 1gb of ram, to make 2gb, like xdev said.
what do you want to get out of vista anyway? and sp1 should be coming out soon (not talking about beta).
omfg i hate acers!

Deleting programs will free up hard drive space, not RAM. You don't have enough RAM to run Vista smoothly, period.
