Delete all zero-posters, and cycle bimonthly
Delete locked topics older than a year
Disable attachments on weekdays, use download mirror links
Add more, yeah? Posted in this section because I find Computer Talk and Random Spam irrelevant to this topic.

I don't your title suit what you suggested, by removing those inactive accounts, old threads and attachments would only make the server performance better.

Its because people or doing to much shit to fast... Actually having those locked topics are good. So when someone goes "Maple hax plox" they find Cheat Engine, they join, they contribute... ect...
What you should suggest is for everyone to donate 1 dollar... if everyone donated 1 dollar (hell a quater!) they could buy a waaayyy better server...

bottleneck is the cpu/memory combination. There's currently enough transfer bandwidth left. (at max only 6.5Mbit of the 100MBit connection I have)
But it's only a 2.8GHz HT cpu with 1MB ram
1MB ram is the biggest bottleneck since it causes the max clients to be set at 190(don't compare it to the numbers of online people at the same time on the index, that one is most within 5 minutes, and loading a page usually takes less than 5 minuteS), and the secondary problem is the cpu. At normal traffic times the cpu loadavg is 4 (preferred load for this cpu would be 2)
