Reading up on the basics would be an even better start.

Loops doesn't work. Becuase its all in a queue so you have to click ok to the first one for the 2nd one to pop up.

QFFT

I'll give you the way to do it but I won't give you codes... the noob way of doing it is an app SHELLEXECUTEing itself and showing a message box.

Enough hints I suppose.. you can also do it the ActiveX EXE way, VB.NET way, or any ThunderVB way. But I don't think you'll get close to those methods with the kind of "i want the code" mindset.

THE ESIEST WAY!

1) Click on the timer
2) Drag it to your form
3) Double Click the timer
4) Enter this code: msgbox "what you want to say" , vbcritical , "What you want the caption to be"

5) Click on the timer
6) Change the Interval to 100
7) Woila! Finished!!!

You should really test your code before you try to give help. Just like the other suggestions this wont do anything until you click to close the msgbox. Another will not popup until you close the one currently being shown.

Actually, it looks like you can do it with a timer. I wasn't using VB, but unless VB is magically different in that regard, it works.

Kind of hard to say it works when you aren't using the language that is in question lol. Like I said above, VB doesn't handle things the same way other languages do. When a message box pops up, it is automatically modal to the entire program. That being said, the main thread of the program is "paused" until that message box is closed.

Easy way to test:

Code:
Option Explicit

Private Sub Command1_Click()
    MsgBox "Hello"
End Sub

Private Sub Form_Load()
    Text1.Text = 1
    Timer1.Interval = 1000
End Sub

Private Sub Timer1_Timer()
    Text1.Text = Val(Text1.Text) + 1
End Sub

Add 1 timer, 1 textbox, 1 button to your project. Paste the above code and run. Let the text tick some to show the timer is working then click the button to have the message box appear. The text will not tick anymore until you close the message box.

I dunno dude, i have coded in vb6 again until yesterday, anyways try this.

Add a button, then make the button say Timer1.Enabled = True, then in the Timer1 add:

for i = 1 to 1000
msgbox ("LOL!")
next i
timer1.enabled = false
