If you actually get an intel that works properly then intel.

I've had 4 intels and 3 of em ran like shit compared to my brothers AMD equivilant.

But now that i have my Q6600 I'm finally winning the race Smile

Due to my 1.5 gigahertz AMD processor works so well with my other hardware computer requirment testing sites says it works like a 2.25 GHz processor.

So i;m happy with my AMD.

Tho we are real Mac users in this house I still need to complain a bit.

Our family comp is a.
Dual Core. 2.6(I think) GHz Processor
2048 MB Mem
256 Vid card.
Glass 24 Inch screen(the sharpness of photo graphs is mind blowing!)
I dont know all other comp specs etc.

But it seems like our comps cache filled itself in 1 weeks somehow so our comp runs much slower then normal now.
I am sure as hell we don;t have a virus(People don;t even make virusses for Macs xD and I downloaded McAffee crap for virus scan with no result.

Is it possible that Parrallels(Program with makes u run PC progs on a Mac Intel comp) wich got BSoDed took a huge bite out of our CPU and mem?

AMD chips generally provide better performance, they are more cost-effective and they execute instructions more efficiently. Intel chips are more expensive and require more cycles to execute many instructions, but they run at higher speeds than their AMD equivalents, yielding roughly equal performance overall. Aside from that, they design new chips all the time so any answer to this will likely be dated and inaccurate soon. I'd say tie? But since I like speed, I choose Intel.

I don't know where you copied that from, but I'm assuming you copied that considering none of it has been true for well over 2 years. Intel chips do more work per clock cycle than AMD's AND run at higher clock speeds, they are cheaper, and AMD chips can't touch Intel chips in performance.

AMD has done some amazing things, the Athlon 64 was an amazing processor in it's day, HyperTransport is an awesome design, and they were pretty much the whole reason we have 64-bit desktop chips, but they're getting completely raped by Intel, there's no denying that.

AMD has a tendency to burn.

AMD's aren't really cheaper, you get less price/performance with them actually, but the boards for them are cheaper so it evens out. For a value machine I might consider AMD, but for a performance machine Intel is the way to go right now.

Well, now that the Quad Core and Duo2core have been released, Intel.

Copied? -rolls eyes- Yeah...

And Quad Core and Duo2core are pretty good, at least for my standards.
