I was wondering if it would be worth it for me to learn Delphi. I already know VB6 pretty well.
What benefits does Delphi have over VB6?
What are the cons?

Delphi is definetly a good language.
Two things I don't like about Delphi. Program Version Control. Since so much of your application depends on what is installed in your component pallette, its hard to take a snapshot and know confidently that you can re-build your program in 2 years when it needs to get updated.
Second, the graphical setup stuff is too hidden in the background.
Sometimes its easier to cut and paste code than to build everything graphically. Its also easier to see how controls differ.
But the language is very solid. Ranges, with, specified array bounds. All good stuff. Interfaces instead of Multiple Inheritance. Hell, if you asked a lot of Java programmers you'd think that Sun invented Interfaces.

I don't know what's better betwen delphi in v6, I only know that it's better.
But I think delphi is a good language to begin.
Just search for some beginner tuts.
otherwise, search for some tuts in C/C++.

Maybe that's why there's an Object Inspector?
Anyway, Delphi is pretty fun. You can do a lot of stuff with it and it's easy to program with.

Where can I download it?
And, yes I did google it, but I'm really tired right now, so I'm not thinking quote straight.

That site is nice, but, so far as I can find, it doesn't have a Delphi download on it. Am I missing something, or is it not there?

Okay, Symbol, thanks. I got to the installation, but I don't have a serial number or an authorization key. Any help here?

| There's a keygen in the download I gave you, extract the files and open keygen.exe, it will make a file with a random serial number.

Yeah, I got that right after I posted that I didn't have the key.
Anyway, I have made some practice programs and I am wondering how to encrypt my programs in Delphi. Could someone help me on this score?
