| i got my new laptop from futuershot and its a HP.... and ist has vista... it came with 2 recovery CD .. so when i put in my xo CD to frmat it goes in the blue screen than wehen i press ok.. to install a new windows its wont find my hard drive.... O_o say unable to find a hard drive... why plz help

Have you even tried working with Vista, or are you just assuming it's shit because of what other people say?

yea i have it right now... its soooo crap!! well i guess i cant use it and its nto fully functionla cuz of all the prgrams that are on vista... and i do put in my XP CD and works in the setupm it does not detect my hard drive.. and i called futuershop... and they said it had something to fo with the recovery drive..

vista isn't that crap, it's just some things don't work so well with it, than they do on XP. the only reason why i changed back from Vista to XP was because of my laptop. if everything on my laptop worked perfectly i would have stayed on Vista because it's better in some aspects. just use it for a while and if you want to format back use an XP disc. if you use your recovery disc you'll only format and have Vista still...

ok u know how u boot computer with my XP CD and it goes in the blue screen and after while its askes me to press enter if i want to install a new compie of windows XP when i press "enter" its says unble to detect HD

I dont really care because I have a triple boot of Vista, Ubuntu, and OSX leopard

I've tried putting XP on a Vista computer before. Bad idea. My entire computer was fucked over. I brought it over to Best Buy and they said that they'd never seen a computer so fried in their careers.
I had to buy a new computer and put Linux on it.

it can't find your hard drive because you have a SATA hard drive which windows XP does not recognize until service pack 2, so you need an sp2 disk
