i really doubt you are a "hacker".... but if you are talking about internet slang "hacker" then you are not that. If you are talking about a hacker who takes things apart and make them better, than yes Linux is a great system.
Your new, get Ubuntu (google: ubuntu).

Join some software company, then design something way better then xp. vista, or linux. infact, start your own company. if you arent quite smart or old enough or whatever get xp. actually, because vista is so new it will probably get better for the average use. If your a "hacker" or memory editor or whatever you want to call yourself dont get vista or xp, cause they will just slow you down.
-Get linux if you like to mess with other people's computers and websites.
-Get vista or xp if you just like playin around with cheat engines and games. |

Yeah, it's a misuse of terminology. It was actually in the cyber jargon file that hackers and crackers are indeed different.
