So, its christmas, and i finally need a new computer.
I was thinking that building mine would be the best bet these days since i dont need any of the other crap in a package or something.
My pricetag is about $700. Maybe a tiny bit more.

Fallowing is what i picked out, can you tell me if theses are good choices, and that they all work together.
I tried my best and are pretty sure they do.
But i wanna double check.

EDIT: Ehh, sorry should go in computer talk, admin please move.

In my opinion, I think it would be worthwhile getting a 8600GT rather than a 8500GT.

Why microATX, aren't they more expensive than regular ATX? (and inherrently have greater heat build up...)

^Rofl, gw on pointing out a severe oversight @_@. Why are you going with 4gb of ram? 2gb is more than sufficient...

The case comes with a 400 watt psu.

what type of games do you want to play? i have a 256mb 8500gt and i can run guild wars at just about max settings.

also, if you dont plan on overclocking your cpu, you can just stick with the stock cooler, intel dont run as hot as amd.

also2, i see your going with 4gb ram, fyi, windows xp only recognizes 2.78ish. you should stick with 2gb and just make sure it has a decent FSB. i'll look into that mobo and see what you can get to.

heres a better mobo; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128077
a little bit more expensive, but it looks worth it.

and heres 2gb ram at 1066 instead of 667
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227178

should be right around 700

1. It depends, my 4400x2 runs at 30c idle. If you're not overclocking, you don't need a fancy fan.

2. It's a limit of 32bit, you can't address any more than that. It's not windows fault, but you can very certainly get over that magic number of 2.78 visible.

3. It's doubled. Buying 1066 ram is a waste of money.
667 * 2 = 1334
533 * 2 = 1066

finally DO NOT TRUST A CASE POWER SUPPLY IF YOU VALUE THE HARDWARE YOU ARE GOING TO BUY

Better mobo needed (asus p5k for example), get a case w/o PSU then add one to your cart and you can get rid of the extra cooler to save another 30 bucks.
