well i recently had one on my computer and was messing around with it in the quarentin and i started to wonder, exactly how do they work anyways?

Not really, it's pretty public knowledge on how they are made / work. There are tons of sites that contain source codes to old virii and trojans and so on.

There are tons of different methods and ways to go about making a trojan, keeping it hidden, unknown to the computers owner, and so on. The more commonly seen things today are rootkits as they are harder to detect and remove.

Old style trojans on the other hand were nothing more then a process that ran a segment of code to harm the system. Nowadays, virii and trojans go to more extremes to damage the system overtime and to create methods to spread itself as fast as possible.

As for how they are made, theres no one set way that people use to make them. Just like any program you make, you start out with the barebones of the project, work your way up on the code you wish to be added, then work on making your code secure and hidden from being detected by virus scanners and so on.

There is no good point to a trojan. And for you saying that you want it for good intentions means nothing to me. I can't trust you simply be you saying you wont use something for harmful reasons. This is the internet, I don't give people the time of day by saying things like that, sorry.

To be honest, today viruses are almost dead (or any other mal) since Kaspersky AV came out, nothing can touch you.

but anyways heres what advanced trojans do

Have a specific task, maybe opening porn on your computer and messaging everyone on aim with the virus link.

Then they infect other programs. This way, if you want to get rid of them, you have to delete the program/file.

The most advanced ones have the ability to change code to remain undetected.

Some trojans are designed to infect massive amounts of people in short time. Like the one that infected 400,000 computers in 15 minutes. But these are easily detected by cyber police.

Others are made to be slow, but have code changing ability. These often remain dormant until a specific time. I think there was 1 that went on for 2 years infecting millions and morphing to remain undetected then on new years it went off and crashed alot of servers.
