|
|
I purchased a HD 2600 XT PRO Radeon 512MB GDDR3 Graphics card,
Put it in my API Exoress slot, but found out my Power Supply won't cut it, so I'm getting a new one.
I started my computer up twice with the card before finding out about the power supply, and put my old card back in.
Now my harddrive is screwed and I have to reformat, which I'm doing.
[I'm on my second desktop]
Could putting in a new video card and the power supply not supporting it have anything to do with a harddrive screwover?

It says like
'Windows has experienced problems starting up, a recent software/hardware change might have caused that, try last recent good settings/safe mode.'
I tried both, Windows XP Booting screen comes, Blue bar goes through once, then restart my computer, so I'm formatting it.

dunno... since your already formatting it, I'm not sure what you want to get out of this thread.

I want to know if the video card could have caused that.
My dad works for Microsoft and says no,
And I don't think it could have.
PSU should arrive on Monday or Wednesday, Tuesday being Christmas,
So I'm pretty excited
190 GB Harddrive, 3 GHZ Processor, 2 GB RAM, and Dark XP V3 [modified XP]
Just gotta redownload like 10 games.. x,x

is the cpu dual core?
and i guess its possible, maybe the psu shorted out the hard drive, if your format fails at some % then thats probably the problem.

I don't think so,
System info in Control Panel said 3.00Ghz, then 2.99 Ghz..
Dunno if that's dual core?
