Hey... Im currenly using Visual basic right now, and i want to know... and i want to know... im going to be switching over to delphi, but before i do... i want to know some stuff...
What can i make in delphi?
Is the scripting language easy/medium/ or hard to learn?
What version should i get?
Whats the GUI like?
Do i have to torrent it because it costs money?

medium, 7, simple but powerfull, yes. Or try the lazarus project, it's free and provides the same (just slightly crappy windows support)

| the .exe's are big as hell though. I know there's that VCL replacement thing, but either I was retarded back then, or it was a pain in the ass to get working.

Well you can always be cool and create the window on your own, but that defeats the purpose of the fancy RADness of it all.
or you can try and set up KOL/MCK also.

using VCL will probably yield close to 300kb .exe's in delphi7

you can make 16KB exe's by editing some stuff in the packages tab in options but then you must make sure the system it runs on has the proper runtime files in the windows folder
But besides that, it's up to you. I give a shit about filesizes as long as it's smaller than 100MB so the filesize problem isn't a problem for me
i've attached such a exe here.
Only if you have the proper libraries on your system it'll work. (Exactly the same as visual basic with their runtime libs btw...)

| a console app (16bit) compiler should make your exe like 1-32kb
