i'm 99% sure it's your antivirus/firewall if everything is ok. what antivirus do you use? this happened to me on CA antivirus, just allow msn as an exception (on any antivirus/firewall program). _________________

Try re-intalling it, if it still doesn't work, call you're internet provider.
If still doesn't work, someone froze your adress.
OR jameblake meant to check if the date is the right one. Specially the year! check if it's 2007 not 2008. |

Try reinstalling and clearing your host files.
You can clear your host files by opening up hosts (found in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc) in Notepad and deleting w/e is underneath the following.
| Code: | # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost |

The only way you need to mess with this is if someone has installed a new one on your pc.
99% of the time, this is not whats wrong.
I would think it to be a firewall or filter the modem has.
Also, corrupted install of msn. |
