optimum online uncaps your download speed if you pay an extra $15 a month and basically triples your upload.

too bad you'll just hit the docsis 2 limits at around 4mb/s anyway.

competition is great, FIOS is making OOL get off it's ass, when it first hit we got a free jump from 10/1 to 15/2 (formerly their boost service speeds). if they could get the upload speed a little higher, i'd probably throw down another $15.

Not true at all. A good router has VERY little impact on latency and almost no impact on bandwidth. Of all the devices the signal has to go through to get to you, one more won't hurt.
