how can i get a ftp server to create a website

This isin't really programming, but you can buy it or just register off a free site, or you can host the site on your computer's ip address (I don't know how to do this)

IIS comes with Windows XP Pro. You need to install it as it is not a default installed component. (Other versions of Windows comes with it, and it is a default install of Win2k3 server.)

There is a quick overview guide, from Microsoft, on how to install it. It requires you to have your Windows CD available as it will install it from the CD.

You can also install in Windows XP Home, but you need a Win2k CD to do it:

To obtain an FTP server to make a website, you need to pay for one if you do not wish to host your own. Mind you, check with your ISP's Terms of Service before hosting a server for anything as it may go against your contact and they may/can shut off your net or block the port from working.
