All that you mentioned and more, like the shader clock, memory amount, the memory interface, memory bandwidth, fill rate per second, the memory type, how many stream processors. That's about it, there's some other things, but they are more "complicated".

I'm not a fan of the 8600, I think it's a joke, so I will say no. What are you planning to do with it? The 8600 is a bad DirectX10 card, so you may as well get a high end DirectX 9 card. Your motherboard got a PCI-E slot?

i have no idea what ur talking about, and im just planning to play warcraft3, cs source and maybe bioshock/battlefield 2

shouldn't get a 512mb one if its only 128-bit interface... really just wasted space.
if your going to get a 128-bit card then just stick with 256mb.
