Ok so i picked up a copy of guitar hero 3 and a guitar and i get like halfway into the song , sometimes less and the damn game freezes. I took it apart thinking it was just becuase it was overheating and probably dusty as hell. Which it was.. so i cleaned it all out, heatsink case etc etc and i had high hopes of it working smoothly. epic fail
game still freezes midway through a song. I just want to know if anyone has had this happen. Its not giving me the 3 red lights of doom. The only things i can think to do would be to put some arctic silver on that bitch and to put a new bay fan in the back....

The problem is you bought an xbox 360 even though they have several known stability and heat issues. Send it to Microsoft for an RMA and use that one till it breaks, then the cycle repeats. I'm on my 4th one so far. If it only happens with that game though it might just be a bad disc or something.
But yeah, wrong section.

I haven't had a game console in a few years since my dad sold my N64 like a few years ago for close to 200 LOL, Some Mom Bought it thinking it was a good deal  . So the they have heatsinks and fans on the CPU now?

Same thing happens to me, only it says "The disc could not be read" once i'm done playing matches on Xbox Live.

I think this section should just be for general hardware, not limited to computer components.
and as premature said, if its only with that game then its probably the disc.
edit: oh and im on my 1st xbox 360, and i got it right when they came out

They sell intercoolers for the 360, but the one made by NYco will melt the plug in the back of the fan and 360.
Also if the box is just freezing on that game alone. I would think it is the disc before it was the box.
