Can I install a DDR2 RAM with a higher memory clock than the clock that my motherboard is able to support. For instance, can I use a 667Mhz DDR2 RAM on my motherboard which supports up to 533Mhz only? Will my computer be able to run fine with that setup?

Yes you can, your motherboard will lower the clock, so your 667MHz RAM will run at 533MHz in your case.

No, it should run fine, you're just not going to get the 667MHz "advantages".

That's about right. Also, running 667MHz RAM on a 533MHz board will likely cause it to tighten up your timings more than you'd have on regular 533MHz RAM, which will give you a bit better memory performance.

I have to disagree that this question was answered. New motherboards support different stick of RAM than the old ones, example the motherboards on these computers at work and mine at home, doesn't support each other's RAM at all, and he didn't clarify which type of RAM his takes.
Also, from what it seems you both know a good amount about the subject, don't have to criticize someone for trying to help.

He said DDR2.
Show me one post from him helping someone who has a hardware question, explaining him why and stuff. He doesn't try to help people, he tries to look smart that's all.

True, he said DDR2, but he didn't say which kind his motherboard supported. Anyway, I'm not here to look through someones post history to prove you wrong.
