K i'm messin with my vista and i cant seem to find a way to get my microphone to work -> say's "Make sure your audio hardware is working properly and check your audio confiuration in the Audio Devices and Sound Themes" but i dont kno what audio device's/Sound Themes to look at cause I never installed any for Vista, so I think i need to get 1 for vista, any ideas?

Hm... first of all i'm just saying (if you didn't know) no need to install any driver for the microphone, but is your mb compatible with Vista ? once you've pluged in the microphone (Plug in & Play service) it should be vista ready and installed auto :S, when you insert the microphone did vista auto detected it ?

what motherbaord do you have ? i might find a solution for you.

false alarm, no need anymore i dont need microphone for vista now since the game i was gonna use it for.. doesnt work on vista X]

gears of war works on vista. if it's not working for you, it's your problem, not the game.

LMFAO. No mic is usb. they all plug in the usually way via mic plug "usually near the headphoen jack"

Hey Rabit561, fyi if you have Aim 6.5 on your computer that can cause problems with your sound/recording devices.

it can also cause problems with games, I haven't heard of it causing problems with GoW though, so it might and might now be related, though I am assuming that you have aim, so if you don't, don't worry about it.

make sure if it is a direct input MIC you have it set up as such.
