If i want extra RAM for my laptop(it's 1Gig now) could i just have to send it to
a computer workshop? And they could add it? or would i have to carry around an extra box? ( a box like and external hard drive?) And what would the price be for like getting 2 gigs more for my laptop?

No, you don't need to carry another box, just buy another 1Giga stick (ask them if your mainboard is compatible with the mudole they're giving you) and just put it in yourself, it takes 5min if you're an hardware exper (even a newbie can do it in 5min)
anyways, good luck.
