i'm having some difficulty installing the 180 day trial of visual studio 2005 found on this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

i burned the img to a DVD and started to install and at a certain point while installing VS to be more specific it asks me to insert the Visual Studio DVD, the problem is that there is only that one DVD. i would love to know how to fix this as soon as possible.

If it's an ISO, just use a virtual drive tool such as Daemon Tools and mount the image instead of wasting a DVD to burn it to.

Try and use that and see if it helps with the issue.

mounting the .img didnt seem to help, the setup is still asking me to insert the Visual Studio DVD.

change label to DVD or DVD2 and reburn

MSDN forums had a few posts on this issue as well:

As e!ns7e!n said, try changing the label of the DVD to DVD2 as the install for DVD1 is the MSDN content and DVD2 is the actual Studio install.

Others said they tried mounting on a networked computer and installed over the network and that fixed it. And another said the file was corrupted and redownloading fixed it for them.
