Kaizokuna: simple. Humans != Animals. (personally I am against the animal killing too, but your argument is stupid) This is why, in a related issue, if you allow gay people to marry it's not like saying people can marry animals, it's because there is a fine line between a human and an animal. _________________

I assume most of you here eat meat, as most of America's population does.
What makes killing animals merely to satisfy our taste for meat moral?
We can surivive without it, yet we merely eat it to make our lives more enjoyable.
Now a baby in the womb, I'm sure feels a whole lot less pain than an animal does in being killed.
It makes the mother's life more enjoyable, because she didn't want it in the first place.
So how would eating meat be any more moral than having an abortion?
They serve the same purpose.
And please don't start a "meat gives us important nutrients" argument.
Many vegetarians live healthy and long lives. |
under christian law, humans were given dominion over animals |

Perhaps some animals have the capabilities of perceiving the importance of humans.
We take care of animals with loving care, perhaps it is most of the animals that own the humans. |

I still think that abortion is immoral. If they aborted the baby, why did'nt those people think of the consequences before having unprotected sex?
Since the US is handing out free abortions to teenagers, are they promoting unprotected sex? What about underage sex?
Seriously, i think US have to reconfigure their thoughts of "freedom" to the people. _________________

Fail.
Every meat eating animal must prey on another animal to live. Thats how it is in nature. That was a horrible comparison.

Because abortion is legal (in most countries, on request), careless women are using it as birth control. |
It's their baby. They cant support it, so they get rid of it.
No foul done. |
... Sick bastard.
Killing someone that has done no harm to anyone without someone else being at fault deserves to die?
Yeah they made the child, that doesn't mean they can do whatever the fuck they want with the child. You don't see your mother doing whatever she wants. "Ugh. I'm bored of you Damon. /Kill". Just because the baby is inside the mom and is helpless doesn't mean you can kill him/her. |
oh please, that is a terrible argument and you know it. |
Abortion debate is biased; therefore my arguement stands perfectly strong. Idiot. _________________

Government is required to be seperate from religion. Abortion is being questioned by law, which I'm sure is a governmental issue.
At appal, this is a discussion of morality. What makes killing an animal more moral than killing a baby who hasn't developed?
Also related to renko's post, you can't understand the intellect of an animal, nor can you of a newly concieved child. |

Not to mention that other carnivors also kill animals. Are those animals unethical because they follow the rules of nature? Humans eat both plants and animals. To eat animals, to survive, we must kill animals. Its natural law. Are you going to call that morally unethical? _________________

This isn't a discussion of morality, this is a discussion of abortion. Don't ignore the facts because it doesn't pertain to the debate you perceive this to be. As to your question: Just because the baby hasn't fully developed doesn't mean they are any less human. Thats like saying we could kill off the mentally or physically handicap.

But we know the potential intellect of the child.

I am, but I can recognize that
a) there's a difference
b) this has nothing to do with anything, you're just trying to apply the same rationale people use towards eating meat to killing babies, which is horrible and disgusting. _________________

False. We do because we like the taste. And no, I'm not calling any of this unethical. This is why I support abortions. |

It's a fetus. I thought you said you were against killing animals too? | Animals are sustenance to survive, they provide us with many vitamins necessary to survive. Vegetarians are typically unhealthy and no fun to be around.

Because animal meat tastes good, humans deserve to die?

If we like the taste, mind explaining why salt, spices, sugar, ect are put into meat? |
