If you get the vista skin, you can still play maplestory etc right?
Cause vista skins look better then XP in my opinion.

Yes if you only get the skins but if you download the program like [ i have no clue] but think about it the skins are different from the actual program so from an idiot that dosent know what hes saying [ ME :D] I would say yes you could still play maple properly and hack. Well for that matter you could play even if you downloaded the thing ...

First of all to not leave you hanging anymore XD [sorry] I think it wouldnt delete it But to be sure If you have another computer at home OR if you have a usb download the stuff you need the most onto it and if it does overwrite all you gotta do is just send it back >.<.

Good luck ever taking advantage of DX10 without Vista, like it or not, it's going to phase out XP if you play games. DX10 is starting to get a foothold. (and DX10.1 is around the corner...)
ps I've run vista on a 2.6ghz p4, 512 ram, x1300 ati piece of shit. Ran fine.
