| OK so every time I open or try to open Cheat Engine it closes as soon as I go to open a process. Or if I do anything for that matter. I have tried loading and unloading and even PMed Dark Byte but I doubt he'll message me back any time soon. So I am coming to the people who have more experience than I do in my whole body, please help.

1. Are you using Vista?
2. Have you been able to open it before?
3. Try opening it through cmd and see if it gives an error message.
To open it in cmd, go to Start>Run type cmd and press enter.
In cmd navigate your way to the folder where Cheat Engine is located.
If it is in your desktop type cd DesktopName*\CheatEngineFolderName**\CheatEngine***.exe
*This name will depend on your Computer's main language.
**This name will depend on what you made it.
***This name will be the main exe you want to open, default should be Cheat Engine.exe
Then say what error it gives you here.
Good luck.

OK I tried using cmd but it says that the file could not be executed. I really don't know what language my computer uses, so i don't know where to from there. No i don't use vista i still use XP. But before I tried cheat engine on runescape it worked fine, so could game guard send some code to the program and well kill it on my computer?
I tried messing around with your cmd sentence. It says the system can not find specified path

Where is your Cheat Engine located?
Go to the folder it is located in and right click on Cheat Engine.exe .
Go to properties and look for the one marked location.
Copy and paste that here, censor user-name if needed.
Edit:
Also, what folder does your cmd start on?
Does it start on C:\> or a different one like C:\Folder Name\>?

| OK my cmd is C:\foldername\. And I think cheatengine is located in its own folder, on the desktop because i never installed a start menu folder. And symbol if you read my first post it says i've tried 'em all.

Whcih game are you trying to hack? Some detect CE and instead of saying "Hack attempt" get freaked out and close all programs/shut down computer.

Okay.
When you start cmd type cd\
This will take you to C:\>
It should look like mine now:
I think your computer is probably in English, so then do this.
cd Documents and Settings\UserName*\Desktop\
Now it is viewing the Desktop.
Next, type cd CheatEngineFolderNameHere
It will now be inside your Cheat Engine folder.
Now finally type your exe name.
So if it is Cheat Engine.exe type Cheat Engine.exe and press enter.
Note:
Where UserName* is type your computer username.
So if your Username on your computer is protonix it will be this:
cd Documents and Settings\protonix\Desktop\
Also, where CheatEngineFolderNameHere is you have to type your Cheat Engine folder's name.
So if it is CE then you must type:
cd CE

You're welcome.
I hope this works for you.
I like to help if I can.
Also, you can always try to download a new copy or a UCE and see if it works then.
Maybe it is a corrupt file or something like that.

| OK I've tried following what you posted, but it still gives me "The system cannot find specified path" error. I think it may just be my computer and my copy of XP was corrupted some how because it shuts down at weird times when I'm on it. So until I re initialize XP I'm gonna need to let it go. And toxic I would rep for all the help but I don't know how.

Oh I see.
I am sorry to hear that.
Maybe if you update your XP it will fix some of the problems?
I'm also curious what Cheat Engine are you running?
The one downloaded from the Downloads page?
Or are you using a UCE?
If you are using a UCE, try the original.
If it works then it might just be a problem with the UCE.
You can also check if your Anti-Virus programs are not the cause of the problem.
Some Anti-Virus programs detect CE as a Trojan, so I would not be surprised if some of them shut it off when it tries to attach.
You're welcome, but you don't have to rep me.
It's just numbers, it doesn't really mean anything anyway.

| Im running CE 5.3 from the downloads page, because I'm not skilled enough to mess with it and I only play flash games. If it isn't XP then its macafee anti virus and I'll get a hold of em' tonight or tomorrow and tell em it isn't a root kit trojan. Although I chose the trust program option on the pop-up when I ran it. I don't know, I'll figure something out or I'll e-mail them.

Okay.
You might want to try to download it again.
Sometimes if your internet jumps it damages archives/programs.
I doubt that's it, but you never know.
Well, you can test if it is.
Do not go on the internet, then turn off and quit your anti-virus.
Then start up Cheat Engine and try to attach it.
If it works, you know that is the problem.
If not, then it is probably your Windows.

| Like I said I'll just wait till I re-install XP. It should be soon any way then I'll be back to cheating games. I figured out why it may be doing this. It may because of conflicts in my system. I should have a new copy of XP soon. Ill tell you if it works or not.
