:/

the main factor to choose your case is the main board and that is it.

Videocards are no longer than the mainboard, and not taller than the thickness of your PSU.
Then is the cooling factor.
maybe a motherfucking giant overclocking fan with a huge heatsink, but that is totally an extra.

Tell that to my 5870 (and slovach's 260). High end video cards can get MUCH longer than your mainboard, and MUCH thicker than the PSU. You don't even need a full ATX board to accomadate all your memory, i7 nonsense, and 220 GT. You do need a full tower, or otherwise REALLY big mid-tower, and a standard ATX mobo to fit a card like mine.

Well, my system does just fine. GPU's can be easily updated, while CPU's can't and I don't care about RAM, it was just a cheap deal on that much of that type. So next upgrade I might have Double SLI (I have the PCI slots) or a much better card. At current I can run every game on max graphics with 30+ FPS.

How is the CM Storm Scout treating you? I'm planning to get it for my build. Does it work well and look good?

I changed what I got a little, I still got the Cooler Master Storm Scout though. It's brilliant, it comes with 3 fans, the air circulation is great, it's just the right size, it has all what you could possibly need on the front panel even a SATA entrance. It's a really great case in my opinion.
My current build:
Manufacturer:
Custom Build
Processor:
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor (4 CPUs), 3.41GHz
Memory:
8192MB RAM (Kingston HyperX 4x2GB 1600mhz frequency RAM)
Hard Drive:
492 GB + 320GB
Video Card:
Sapphire Ati Radeon HD 5870 Vapor-X
Monitor:
Acer AL1721
Sound Card:
Speakers (VIA High Definition Audio)
Speakers/Headphones:
Sennheiser HD 457 headphones
Keyboard:
Generic SilverCrest USB keyboard
Mouse:
Trust MI-7770C USB Mouse
Mouse Surface:
Nothing/desktop
Operating System:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Motherboard:
ASUS M4A78 Series
Computer Case:
Cooler Master Storm Scout (Sniper) Red LED 3 fans

Made a custom build myself, still stress-testing for stability and replacing stuff. Preliminary specs:

CPU: AMD Phenom II x6 1055T 2.8GHz (OC'd to 3.85)
Motherboard: Asrock 880G Extreme 3
Memory: Kingston ValueRAM 2GB DDR3 1333 (underclocked to 10xx), CAS 9
Graphics card: Gigabyte GTX 460 1GB (OC'd to 815/4150/1630)
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA3
PSU: Cooler Master GX 750w 80+Bronze
Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus (additional 120mm fan added)

Note that I don't have a computer case, MoBo is currently standing on pegs on the ground.

man Hanswell, you buy an awesome graphics card, but you give it 2GB of RAM?

The build I bought and built myself around 2 months ago is...

Graphics card: Galaxy 260GTX 896MB RAM Overclocked.
CPU: i7 930. 2.80 4core 8 threads.
RAM: 6GB Corsair 1600MHz Triple-Channel (3 sticks of 2)
HDD: 320GB main 500GB storage.
Motherboard: ASUS P6X5D-E. Extreme Edition.
PSU: Corsair 650W.
Case: Antec Three Hundred Gaming case.
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Plans for the future:
Buy a 2TB HD for extra storage.
Buy a 1000W power Supply
Buy two 460GTX's.
Water coolant.

I absolutely love this computer, but the graphics card IS the weakpoint, by quite a lot. It's like putting a 480GTX in with a 3.20 single-core.
