Hi everyone!

Recently I became aware of the nice possibilities you have with Cheat Engine. This also includes making a trainer. I looked up one of the tutorials and thought to myself "Cool, looks easy." (which is rare, since I am a complete beginner).

I tried, for a test, to make a trainer for Mass Effect 2. The game is nice and has no anti-cheat options, and almost anything can be found easily and hacked without a fuss.

However, after doing a few things in-game, the addresses (save a very few) change rapidly. Suddenly my cheat engine shows me impossible or invalid values for addresses which I used just a few minutes ago to successfully change something. (The addresses which change are typically those which are not needed in the game in a certain time. For example ammunition when you are in a situation where you cannot fight and so on).

So, my question is this: How can I create a trainer which is capable of keeping track of those values, and changing them, even if they change all the time (The game has to keep track of those values SOMEHOW too, so I am kind of hoping that there is a trick I have overseen).

I already tried to look into the topic of "pointers", but this didn't look like what I was looking for. The "recalculate all addresses" option in Cheat Engine is something I didn't understand at all.

Specs: Version of Cheat Engine: 5.6
Game: Mass Effect 2
Operating System: Windows 7

I hope anyone can help me out here.

Thanks in advance.

Yours,

Lookup DMA (Dynamic Memory Addressing) - Tutorials on here and many other gamehacking sites.

And Mass Effect 2 is NOT a beginner-friendly game. Just FYI. Start on another, come back to this one (much) later.

Hi there!

Thanks for the two hints!

I'll look into it and try ME2 later, as you suggested. Thanks again.
