Cheat Engine

Ok... whenever I edit my value, it always returns to the origional amount whenever I try to do anything, I'm using cheat engine 5.3 and I'm trying to hack Byond can anybody help me?

Find what writes to it then change it there.

ok thanks, EDIT: Now, whenever I do something it will still return to normal, but when I scroll up and down it will go back to the edited amount, I have made the pointer does anybody know what is wrong with it?
