I'm guessing you havn't tried to change the pointer whenever you open the find what writes to this address command. What you need to do is after right clicking and selecting find what writes to this address, go back to the tutorial and click change value. This will bring up somethign in "the following opcodes changed..." window, and that will be what you are looking for.
