I've decided to learn some type of computer language such as C++ but I have yet to decide on a book to get.

Sam's Teach Yourself C++ in 21 days was one that was reccomended but I wanted to hear from others.

Also, what language will help benefit me most in learning how to hack etc.

Thanks! Idea

If you want to learn a language that will benefit game hacking, learn ASM.

I find it easier to carry around then a laptop. Its more convenient then sitting on the computer when Im tempted to play something else rather then read. Wink

Do some searching on Google, possibly.
But ASM stands for Assembly.

Best resources would be the internet and Intel&Amd's manuals. Pretty much all books are outdated on the subject. There is one though...

dude ur wrong about learning all those crap languages then C++ last, i'm learning C++ now as my first language and it's not too hard.

ademist the book i have(which i borrowed from the library free of cost xD) is "C++ Programming" by Larry Ullman, very easy to learn with all the images, and best compiler is "bloodshed Dev-C++" i recommend.

also u might wanna check some other books and e-books 2, if u get stuck on a certain thing, ie. objects, or w.e because different references can explain things differently, and sometimes easier 2...

also ne1 in this thread have any good e-Books or good ASM tuts that they could send me or give me the link, wanna learn to hack ms and make code caves.

btw gl ademist xD

You choose, I personally like books ratger than comps to read, C is complicated though, I recommend Python.

you should download some ebooks from isohunt or something.

Tutorials aren't general enough to be good beginners guides, and often times they aren't thorough.

Well... I use C++ For Dummies (jumps off cliff)

In all seriousness, though, I personally like the 'For Dummies' books because they tend to give a complete beginners look at the subject and spoonfeed your way through. This one also covers basics like loops, classes, arrays, and simple stuff like cout and cin.

It also uses source code often and describes what is happening in each program. It's like $25 though, but it's a hefty 400 pages. eBooks are also good, but I find that tutorials cover too little.
