Last week I aw all people at work to loose their time with a stupid facebook game, "who has the biggest brain"...
I spent a few time during the wekend to bit their score, of course using my really biggest brain.
I downloaded the SWF file and I reverse engineered the script using thrillix. To my surprise all the game was played in client side, no servlet, asp etc, so simple!!!
The code was easily readable, the authors had even left their comments ...
Everyone can fing many vulnerabilities, I let it as a good exercise for novices... I do the simplest think (no code injection, no assembly debbuging) Just set at hte begining of the game using CE the values 58989 and 57068 (4 bytes long) to 0...The clevr guys use them as seeds in their random value generator. The result was very funny. The elements in the games with the weights and the asteroids were always appearing in the same order...I easily scored about 5.000 points and i became the biggest brain of the world...just so simple. Of ourse after one day, these complexacal removed me from the list (the other scores about 4.000 point seemed to them very natural ...
So, if you have a bit time test your brain size (in the clever of course way) wth this stupid game. And do not forget, these guys are taking a lot of money from advertisements, it is worthy to mesh up a bit the think
