I've looked around and haven't found anyone else making one, so I figured I'd ask here before wasting my time making one. Since newer phones have locked root files (in read-only) even with root enabled. I was wondering if it would be possible to transform the CESERVER files into a Magisk module that gets loaded at the boot-up phase of the phone. This could save a lot of trouble

edit: just making it clear, I am not asking anyone else to do it for me, I was planning on doing it myself, but figured I'd ask the experts as to why it hasn't been done yet. is there something that blocks it from working

Give it a try. I never tried. Just keep in mind that non-rooted applications must be able to read and execute files in the folder ceserver is in. So don't put in in xbin or sbin or any other folder not accessible to non-root users. My usual suggestion is to put ceserver inside the gamedir itself

do you mind if I ask what you mean by non-rooted applications? If Magisk is running, then the phone is automatically rooted. I was under the impression that you could only do debugging if CEserver is located in the system files, such as Xbin. Without the ability to debug, I might as well use GameGuardian.

A non rooted application is an application currently not running with root access permissions (usually apps)

ceserver can work from any location as long as it's launched as root(e.g. sudo or some other method to make it execute as root). Just make sure that the path it's in is readable and executable for non-rooted applications to load the extensions (i like the /data/ceserver in a chmod 777 folder on android myself and for linux it usually doesn't matter, as long as it isn't sbin)

on android debugging also works non-rooted when ceserver is running under the same user as the game. e.g. using run-as

on linux it works without root if you lower the ptrace requirement first(does need root once)
