The IPT log of Cheat Engine is really weird. My new computer had the IPT function working perfectly right after I installed Cheat Engine over ten days ago. But starting a few days ago, the IPT log has been acting up in three ways: either it shows 0 records, or the client area of the IPT log window displays a loading spinning animation when the mouse cursor hovers over it, or—just like what's shown in this video—the IPT log window won't even pop up at all! It's absolutely bizarre.

Legend DarkByte,
Yesterday I reinstalled CE a total of 5 times, yet the IPT log still refused to show any instruction records. I finally got it working by using the ceregreset.exe to reset CE's registry entries. Upon checking the settings, I saw that the Debugger Interface had reset to "Windows Debugger".
I then switched it to "Kernel Mode Debugger", restarted CE, and tested again—the IPT log worked normally, as well. However, when I switched it to "DBVM-level Debugger", the IPT log went blank again. I thought to myself, "Could it be that the DBVM debugger interface does not support IPT? But a few days ago, when I switched to Kernel Mode Debugger, the IPT log was blank as well!" I stopped overthinking it and tentatively concluded: The DBVM-level Debugger does not support the IPT log function.
However, I just discovered something strange: While using the "Kernel Mode Debugger" (where the IPT log works fine), the "Break and Trace" function in the disassembler window is able to trace using DBVM Native Break and Trace. Wait a minute—was my earlier conclusion wrong? Is it possible for DBVM breakpoints and IPT to coexist?
If they can coexist, then why doesn't the IPT log work when DBVM-level Debugger is selected in the settings? If it works, then IPT log + DBVM-level Debugger would be the ultimate combination, right?
Legend DarkByte, could you please resolve this confusion for me?

IPT Log is based on windows and if the log generated can be properly parsed. Especially with self modifying code the IPT trace won't work as it's only a list of how many times brances where taken and when not. If the code has changed the disassembler won't know where it has gone

First of all, thank you very much for your reply.
My confusion is that Ultimap2(using IPT) works fine when I use DBVM-level debugger but the IPT log window (View menu→IPT log) is always blank.
