Hello - I'm a beginner trying to learn memory scanning and how to find pointers to base addresses.

I had some success in Assault Cube, finding what base addresses health/ammo is stored at.

I created pointermaps for each value, restarted the game, found the base addresses again and generated pointermaps for the new addresses.

Ran a pointer scan and was able to find pointers with (not sure what to call these) low-level offsets? Basically offsets that are close to level 0, if that makes any sense. I'm still very new.

Anyway - I tried this same technique on Animal Well, to find the health values.

I'm able to find the base address, and can change my health to whatever I want. I create a pointermap for that address, restart the game, find it again, and create another poiintermap.

I try to pointer scan, but I get 0 paths.

Every time I run the pointer scan, there are zero results.

Has anyone tried to find the pointers in this game before? I have seen cheat tables for the game online, but I'm too cautious to download anything.

Can anyone give me a hint? What don't I understand?

Also, am I in the right area? Should I go to FearLess Cheat Engine?

EDIT:

After looking at the files for my pointermaps - I noticed that the pointermaps from Animal Well were all 0 kb.

This leads me to believe that something went wrong when the pointermaps were generated.

Not sure what I did wrong.
