How do I cheat?

Utilizing a popular DS3 CE Table and trying to change player model ID. The ID changes, but no effect actually happens when value is set (trying to replace player model with that of the Nameless King/Yhorm the Giant). Any thoughts?
(CE and modding Newbie, apologies for modding ignorance)
