I've been experimenting with the physical memory search routine and the first search can take up to 20 minutes to come back with results. I am using a 13900KS with 192GB of DDR5 7000. Would the search benefit from more cores (ie: Threadripper)? perhaps a Xeon processor? I don't feel like memory is the issue unless it's simply the large amount I have. But I have also tried with only 32GB and it still takes about the same amount of time.

Thanks for any guidance.

More cores and less RAM will help.
Also disable the slow cores as CE can not distinguish between them at the moment and splits up the scan to use those as well

But perhaps there's another issue? Anti virus interceptng the read?

Have you tried using dbvm? When active the physical scan will be done by dbvm instead of asking windows. (don't use dbvm with windows 11 with that cpu of yours)

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there a way to easily disable the E-Cores within CE or would I have to do it in the BIOS/OS? Also, you said DON'T use dbvm with Win 11 and my CPU. Is there a specific reason? What option should I be using instead?

Appreciate your very helpful assistance.

windows 11 make use of a new feature in the 13th gen intel cpu which dbvm doesn't emulate . (it's fixed on github, but the released dbvm won't work on there with a gen13 intel cpu)

if you're on windows 10 it should be fine tough.

Oh yes, also disable core isolation and other security features. I bet those will slow down scanning as well as it's busy protecting physical memory

Wow. I wish I had that kind of build.

Anyway, I'd try setting the scanbuffer size to 16k.
Make sure you don't scan MEM_MAPPED.
