My friend made this chatting service for fun, and in it, you can put a username, this username is unfortunately, limited to somewhere around 15-20 characters (unsure of the exact amount and i think it changes), how would i increase this limit?

There is too little context to give good advice but it's probably down to the size of the data type sent/received between the clients.
