Hi everyone.

I rediscovered a favorite game from my childhood, The Time Warp of Dr. Brain. I want to mess with the sub game, Lizards and Eggs, in the hopes of seeing how it works. It's a hot potato game about hatching eggs by putting them in volcanos that go from hot to cold.

So far, I have found the global game score address (that was easy) and a timer that counts down from 5-0 over and over (that was an accident). I want to control the state of the eggs and volcanos. What should I do? My method so far has been to search for unknown values followed by decreased values to try and find the egg control as they get colder, but have had no luck. My theory is that when the egg timer reaches 0, the egg dies and the level fails.

Barring that, I also want to try and rip the game sprites. I found a DATA folder in the game directory containing .PGF files, but I can't open them in PhotoPad Photo Editor (Google's recommendation). My guess is they are encrypted.

Can anyone help me?

Timers don't necessarily count down, some count up despite showing a value in-game that it is counting down.
