Was writing an Lua script to create a thread, however I'm having an issue with Create Thread in general.

I picked a random function to call, put in several break points including at the beginning of the function. Then called the "Tools->Create Thread" and put in the address of the function (already existing). Unfortunately, its crashing before any of the breakpoints are firing, so it seems like its crashing before the address i've put in is called. I get an alert that the thread was created, and then the application closes

With no setup on your part I'd be surprised if it didn't crash.

If you're using the VEH debugger, it can take a second for CE to be able to stop the new thread after it's created. Use the windows debugger, or try a code injection that sleeps for a bit before breakpoints.

when using veh debug, rightclick the instruction and set breakpoint of a specific type, and pick the software breakpoint
