In some games generally you can change values whatever quantity you wish . For example changing money . But I don't understand why in some games you can't just change values to 9999 ? In Nba games
I find attributes which represented as byte I know that you can make it FF =255 but when you do that it doesn't look 255 , it is still 99 .Both visual and functional it is 99 .Can't pass that value.Another example ;
I'm trying change hero level in heroes might and magic 3 and I see that I can change it to 9999 but after some action I realize it is first value again.Also in this game heroes max lvl is 74.So I understand there are some limits in games but I wonder if is there a way to cross those limits ? Is it something about condition ( compare / jmp ) stuff in memory region ?

usually it is inside the .DLL and try changing values inside their jmp whenever you see the function inside (example ollydbg)
