|
|
I've tested cheat engine on two different computers, one with 16 gigs of RAM and another with 64 gigs of RAM. When I try to do a memory scan on the 16 gigs of RAM machine it works fine, with the 64 gig machine the whole computer blue screens. I've done the cheat engine reset settings and followed suggestions for other posts related to this type of issue with no luck. I did have my page file set to a small value on the 64gig machine but in troubleshooting have set that back to allowing windows to determine the size. Any assistance would be appreciated.

is anything in settings-extra checked? If so, uncheck everything there
if that's not the case try installing the latest drivers (especially graphics card)
in settings-scan settings make sure the option to skip no-cache memory is checked
if your system is overclocked reset the speed back to default (CE's memory scanner brings out system instabilities better than most benchmark tools)
and if none of this works try removing some RAM modules. It's possible at least one of them is faulty

Nothing in extras is checked.
Made sure I'm on the latest gpu drivers.
Skip no-cache memory is checked.
System is at stock speeds
Running memtest86 on my ram but not expecting any errors.

try underclocking your system and see if it helps
and i still recommend trying different combinations of memory to rule out faulty memory. Memtest86 may not trigger issues if it only runs in one thread
does the bsod state anything about the cause? Do you have a copy of c:\windows\memory.dmp it generates somewhere? (could be somewhere else if changed in settings)
also, do you have any online games running at the time? Some of them will bsod you on purpose if they detect CE
and at any time of running CE, do you see a colorful flashing "dbk loaded" message in the top left?

It was turbo boost being enabled that was doing it. Once I disabled that in the bios everything works as expected, the other machine I was testing with doesn't support turbo boost(xeon). Note that I still have the memory's XMP profile enabled for anybody using this to aid with their own troubleshooting.
